Living in mud in Loch Creran (Gage, 1972), common in mud in about 60m in the Firth of Lorn in 1998, in mud in 35m in Loch Melfort in 1994, in silt in Loch Tarbert, Jura in 10m in 1982 (Smith, 1983a, 1983c; Hiscock, 1983). Largs Channel in sandy mud and gravel (Allen, 1962). Dead shells sparse but widespread. Several old records including Gairloch and Barra (Marshall, 1897b) and the Clyde.
